It looks like Gumi fans (like me, yay!) have a reason to rejoice. More than one friend has told me that if there's ever going to be a figure of Gumi, they'd buy multiple copies. Let's hope this is real.

Looks like the main reason why this starter pack is so expensive is because it comes with the full Vocaloid 3 editor as well, and that alone costs $126 US dollars if you buy that directly from Yamaha:

I would have to agree that the price is a little much and it's kinda weird to see her with an underboob straight up on the package. However, if it is used properly, it does make the song sound a LOT better. As an example, Ten-Faced colorful version.

I think gumi is my new favorite because of her song "Coward Montblanc". every time i listen to that song, i nearly get tears in my eyes, which is ironic because im listening to it right now.

I like the new voicebanks, although the change is much smaller than for example with Miku Append. That might be a good thing as well, because at least the new voices all sound similar to the original one. Overall V3 GUMI is a welcome update that makes her sound more natural and varied, but I think they're charging a bit too much.

A little status update is in order I think.

The pricing and packages were released a couple of weeks ago ( http://www.vocaloidism.com/2011/09/10/vocaloid3-megpoid-voicebank-release-information/ ). It seems GUMI Extend's (now called VOCALOID 3 Megpoid) voicebanks will be sold both separately and in a complete package, and both with and without the full V3 editor. Release date was confirmed to be October 21. It's interesting to note that the complete pack is twice as expensive as Miku Append, especially considering that it contains "only" 4 voicebanks.

Boxart was released today ( http://www.vocaloidism.com/2011/09/23/v3-gumi-demo-songs-and-illustrations-revealed/ ) along with some new demos. There have been some controversial opinions about the new design.
