Btw, we know NND videos are broken after the server move. Attempting to fix ASAP. Edit: should be working now :)
This is a really nice Miku Append model. Only way to get it is to buy it from Melonbooks DL. I don't mind buying it, but how do I even go about doing that? Do they take North American (Canadian) credit cards (Visa), or do I need to find another method?
>>398 Actually some people on the internet posted DL links for free 2 days ago via mediafire or sendspace or something. That $5 could have gone somewhere else.
>>398 read >>388 the data that was up for sale was directed at modellers, not MMD users. he mentioned himself that the model is not complete. so, it is a fair price; you just weren't part of his target audience. assuming you didn't read his notes, it's no small wonder you'd be dissatisfied. either way, if you weren't aware he has updated the model twice on his page, and there are multiple sources of user-made physics settings for the model. unfortunately, i don't have it, so i can't help you with that. >>399 really, i didn't know that.
>>399 I got mine on 4chan...but I won't spoil what boards.
So I ran into this weird problem when rendering videos. It's difficult to see, but in the attached image the right most column of pixels is not rendered properly. Might be a little easier to see in this picture: http://i42.tinypic.com/34pdugx.jpg I've tried rending a bunch of different videos and this rendering error always happens. Has anyone encountered this problem before, and is there a fix? Thanks for your time.
I'm not really sure what you mean by using the video card to force settings. I don't think I've done anything like that before. But yeah, I'm not using any mmd effects.
I'm not sure what video card or OS you're using, but if you're using nVidia or most common graphics cards, inside of the Control Panel's Hardware menu you should find a settings menu for the graphics card. Most graphics cards allow you to force graphical settings onto programs. I'd say to try making sure that your graphics card is allowing 3d applications to render by themselves(in this case by checking "Let the 3d application decide"). If that's not your problem I'm not sure what it would be, but you could try updating DirectX or your graphics card drivers.
Ah, that's interesting. I'm using an HP laptop with Windows 7 installed and an Intel graphics driver. I checked the 3d settings and there didn't seem to be an option like the one in your nVidia example, picture attached. Also, my drivers are up to date. :S
Mikunologie video by MumumuP. MumumuP's videos are all amazing. If you like MMD I suggest watching all of them. And he makes them so goddamn fast, I don't really know what he's doing, but I have some confidence he's using Blender a little bit.
One more cute PV for Mikunologie... Oh, you're free to post more MumumuP too if you wish.
>>246 Well then, here's the first one of his I saw. That Mikunologie one was pretty serious, but most of them are intentionally weird and star the Home Haruka model.
this isn't mumumuP or vocaloid related at all, but it's pretty amazing. it has a similar look to many of mumumuP's videos, in that it's reminiscent of blender. i'm not completely sure how he's made it look like blender, but i suspect it's primarily the gotash shader. either way, while i find blender's default style a little creepy it's rare to see videos like this so i figured i'd post it. the only others with a similar look that i can think of are mumumuP's videos.
Being a fan of the 7th Dragon 2020 design of Miku, decided to create a thread for that. Here's Sweet Devil with a model that has apparently been converted from 3D Custom Girl.
>>391 you mean you converted your own and you want help with it? do you have 3d custom girl? if so, you can make new expressions for use in MMD fairly easily using the pose editor. in regards to the other things, i may be able to help, but no promises. i'm not sure what you mean by reboning. i am willing to bet that the pjd2020 model is simply the 2020 model with the Divappoid's head slapped onto it. that is very easy to do.
>>392 reboning = re-do her bones (i.e. the joints)
>>393 well, i knew you meant you think her bone structure needs work, but i meant i'm not sure what exactly you think is wrong with them. either way, if you want me to take a look at it go ahead and upload it. or if you don't think you can post it maybe you can think of another way.
Better create a thread for this too. Finals are in February. Youtube reprint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbLUCA-cBuI
MMDPV based on the Google Chrome ad about Miku. Very well done, although short. Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTP7j5LBPhQ
"What do you want?" Nice music PV. Teto is literally in flames with that guitar. Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y97_zemVm_o
It's taking me awhile to get through all of these... This one was kind of interesting(pointless, though; not dance or music related). You don't really see a lot of people trying to mix 3d with real life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgX30jwUPck
Apparently this was MasatakaP's first PV. Thought a few people might be interested. I guess this could be the Masataka thread, since we have a Wakamura thread and more or less a Brother thread.
i know it's supposed to be a serious video... but i couldn't help but burst into laughter at this scene
Here's his most recent PV. Guy is a beast. I think he's using some other 3D program for the backgrounds, but I could be wrong.
This may seem like a lot to read, but if you're starting from scratch(and really want to learn MMD), almost all of these will probably save you more time than it takes to read them. These will mostly be directed at newer people who may not understand basic functions. 1. Global and Local modes When animating, learn how to use the global and local functions of movement. You can switch between them by clicking the "Global" or "Local" word, circled red in the picture. What they are: Local and Global modes are very different. Global movement is constant relative to the rest of world in MMD. Local movement is constant based on the orientation of the bone you're controlling(you can see the orientation of the bone by looking at the orientation of the axes when mousing over movement/rotation controls under the Global/Local option). What may require three rotations plus adjustment in Global may only require one rotation in Local, and vice versa. To see what I mean, try rotating the arm bone on the X axis in both Global and Local; you should be able to see the difference immediately. It will rotate around the world's X axis in Global and it will simply turn on itself in Local. Bones will appear to rotate in different ways based on their orientation in Global mode, so don't get confused. NOTE: Global and Local are simply two modes of calculating movement. There is no "global" or "local" movement, so unfortunately you can't register them separately.
>>125 cont. 35. Interpolation line continued The attached image is an overview of the interpolation line's basic functions.
36. Dynamic camera motions using just two frames By setting very different interpolation lines for two different values, you can create dynamic camera motions that don't just follow one path/pattern. As an example: 1. Register two camera frames at default(press "reset"), 100 frames apart. 2. Select the second frame. 3. Set the second frame to 180 degrees Y rotation, 100 distance. 4. Set the "rotation" and "distance" categories of the interpolation line to the shapes shown in the picture. If you play from the first frame, you should see that instead of making one movement, the camera rotates first and then zooms out in one smooth motion. Using this concept creatively allows you to make interesting camera motion easily. Experiment with different values!
37. Camera - Local Z movement Local Z movement moves the camera forward and backward on the Z axis, relative to its focal point. It looks the same as scrolling the mouse wheel(which controls distance), but it is not, because it moves the focal point. It can be used as an alternative way to zoom the camera. Beware that it changes the focal point, however. To use it, while in camera/accessories/light mode, set the manipulation mode to Local in the bottom right of the 3D view. Then, click and drag the "Z" button on the bottom row of buttons below the Global/Local function.
Request Thread If you see a motion, model, stage, or effect you'd like, but don't know where to find it, please post asking here rather than making a new thread. Please try to find it yourself first by searching on google, DeviantArt, Youtube, the VPVP wiki(http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13972710), and/or Nicovideo first, though. If you don't get an answer here, it most likely means no one knows either A) How to get the model B) Whether it is available at all C) Whether it can be redistributed or not Please oblige by the requests of the makers of the content. If somebody doesn't want their model redistributed, link to the original source rather than making your own upload.
>>353 I really have no idea where that would be, but making a long haired version should be an incredibly simple matter. In fact, here's a model edit I made. I can post it if you want it, or I can tell you how to make one yourself. It's easy.
>>357 I guess just post it. I don't have a reason to do something like this to any other models anyway. Greatly appreciated.
>>362 http://www.mediafire.com/?cjis7c6v3gbs2w7 Just put it in the same folder as the Azusa model you posted in >>353 and it should work fine. Rename it to whatever you want.
Just creating a thread to archive new motions. Preferably dance motions only, if someone wants to post something, but I suppose really good cameras could go here too. This one's Freely Tomorrow. http://bowlroll.net/up/dl2313
Here are two other Freely Tomorrow motions which will apparently getting motion releases. It's not released as of yet(Early February), but they're both planned to be released soon. Just keep checking them. This one is also simply a good Freely Tomorrow PV.
2nd This one is just a show of the dance motion, no effects/camera work/etc.
Here's one of Tell Your World, that one song from the Google Chrome ad.
